Hallå pals!
Jonas here with another issue of Indie Notebook to get some ideas out of my noggin, and to inspire you to do the same.
Will keep it short today cause I've caught some kind of flue and trying to rest up. It’s not too bad, so no need to worry.
But since I’m keeping it short I’d like to pass the mic over to you. What are you working on or thinking about right now? I’d love to hear! Feel free to leave a comment on Substack or simply reply to this email if you want to share something.
Mini Notes
📚 Book - What cartooning really is
This is a collection of interviews with Charles Schulz, the creator of Peanuts. I really didn’t want this book to end while reading it. There was something comforting about reading these conversations before falling asleep. Probably cause I could relate to him in a lot of ways and it made him more real, even more so than seeing him appear in video-interviews. The most eye-opening thing for me in there was that he was in the second world war and came home from that to make Peanuts. Makes me feel very lucky that I never had to go to war. I’ll probably re-read this one some day.
🖌️ Art - My treehouse in Unbound
Still tinkering in Unbound. Done with that treehouse scene for now. Thinking of what to build next.
🍔 Burger craving
Almost nothing in France is gluten free. Which sucks for me.
I can’t eat a lot right now because of this stomach flue, I eat mostly rice. I heard a Swedish burger ad (Sibylla) yesterday and got extreme cravings for that exact fast-food burger, because a) they are good and b) they have gluten free buns and c) they have lingon berry drinks. That’s one of the first things I want to do when I go to visit my family this summer.
❓ Question time
What are you working on or thinking about right now? I’d love to hear!
Panel of the week
(from Space Deer)
Thank you for reading Indie Notebook! The best way to support me right now is by sharing this newsletter with a friend.
Take care and have a creative week.
Nice tree house!

Heck yea! Right now, I'm bored of the jaded views people want to share. I want to live in an objectively hard world answered with subjective fun!

:) I finished my first animation commision which is 20 seconds long, and painted and edited. Also about to release a game on steam once I get tax information approved. Learning violin in my spare time for fun, and tinkering with FL studio for making music. It's fun!
Get well soon, thank you for posting anyway!
I am currently finishing my thesis animated short film - and discovering that I prefer pre production a lot above production haha. Animation is just so labour intensive.
This is what I'm working on (and writing about here on substack), but in terms of thoughts, I've been reflecting about the question "what makes human art human", cause I haven't seen a satisfactory answer yet. Maybe I'll write about that too.
Cheers!
