Hallå my pals!
Jonas here with another issue of Indie Notebook to get some ideas out of my noggin, and to inspire you to do the same.
We’re in the final stretch of development of Surmount, so I need to spend some extra time on it to try to tie up all the loose ends and put a tiny bit more love into it.
Which means I can’t write something proper this week.
So instead dear reader(s), I’m turning the attention to the comments section. Feel free to answer any of these questions there (or reply to this email if you feel shy).
What are you working on?
What would you like to be working on?
What’s holding you back?
Looking forward to hear about what you’re up to, no matter if it’s big or small. Also, have a look at other people’s comments if you get the opportunity!
Thank you for reading Indie Notebook! Incase I don’t end up writing another newsletter next week - happy holidays!
Take care and have a creative week.
I feel like I could more or less copy/paste the last email I sent you to answer these questions :) Anyway, this is gonna be a bunch of cryptic non-answers from me:
What are you working on?
A writing related project that I'm not gonna share too much about. I think I just treasure the intimate creative process of it: it's just me and it - no one else. So, for now, I don't have much to say about it.
What would you like to be working on?
I would like to be working on whatever is right for me to be working on. Sometimes it doesn't seem right for me to be working directly on anything creative; sometimes it seems more right for me to be working on myself. I can have ideas of what's ahead or what the future may look like if I play my cards right - but at the end of the day, I am right here right now. I don't want to work on anything that the moment doesn't call for. How's that for a non-answer? :)
What’s holding you back?
Probably all kinds of things - and I'm gonna enjoy the pursuit of slowly uncovering them.
Hope I didn't disrespect the assignment. This is just how I felt like responding today...
Fun fun! That space deer easter egg is adorable.
> What would you like to be working on?
I would like to be working on my game project, a specific animation/drawing exercise, and an adorable animation project.
> What are you working on?
I'm working on my game project, painting skills, and an animation video player program.
> What’s holding you back?
Psychology! It's funny; I've never had problems with overbearing stress until the past year - not in my whole life!
I remember how limited life is and who I want to be before it's all over, and I think that grants me the future-sightedness that I forgot. But all of this psychology stuff is a contrived view! So I try to take it easy.
I wish psychology wasn't my answer to this question because it used to not be a problem for me. Some day it won't be :)
And I'm excited for when I can put 100% of myself into my projects and learning because I've an exciting creative process to work on!
