happy to encounter Oki Sato quote here. i also happend to watch and read 5 videos and 3 articles of his interviews just after I discovered him. he makes many good tangable gadgets but my favorite work of him is 50 Manga Chairs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl-qsLBhXgk which is very conseptual and almost not pragmatic at all.

The book looks adorable, and the cover art is stunning! To me, 10 euros sounds worth the physical experience of reading it — an experience I desire — though international shipping is always worrying ;)

You have a fascinating view on tech. I’ve been thinking about history and gossip lately: our current day may not be much different than the past, but the past is painted in great stories, speeches, and heirlooms because the less meaningful things (boring things we deal with day-to-day) get forgotten. But as you mentioned, mass production and electronics are new things that may make the present much different than the past. And we get to make our own future anyway!

(Also, a fun example of a sentimental heirloom-esque item may be these very expensive hand-crafted globes that are tailored to the person ordering: https://bellerbyandco.com/ https://youtu.be/ymjWeQhic0s)

I like artisan goods! I have a simple, beautiful wooden clock that decorates my desk with much sentimentality. I scare myself with how sentimental I get — simple things like my cozy warm lamp hold high esteem in my head :)

I have to say the Slab-O-Wood sounds like an excellent game controller.

Have a nice day!
