> What software/apps do you like to use?

Seeing you write about notion just broke me; I'm going to get this: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scapple/overview

I had it written down for a while. I have to try a new notetaking method. It'd be fun! Yours seems fun, and it is yours. Perhaps I will make my own :) (my current method piles up physical notecards which is its own fun thing)

Maybe it'd be fun to recount my favorite softwares too!

Animation: TVPaint is my favorite for hand-drawn. The workflow and intuitivity just feels so cool and I like submitting to its way of doing things. And it's not a subscription!

Painting: Clip Studio Paint. Has every photoshop feature I need for painting, except it's not a subscription!

Programming: Sublime Text. Probably more complicated than I need; I mostly just use the text editor parts. It's not a subscription!

Pixel Art: Aseprite. Really good cohesive thing that is not a subscription!

Video editing/Effects: Right now unfortunately, I have a subscription: Adobe after effects/Premiere pro. I wish there was better industry standard software that did not have a subscription.

Fun stuff! I wish you well with Space Deer, sounds like a really cool entertaining project! I'm happy you've been enjoying yourself, and I look forward to reading it.

Oh my, Scapple looks like a lot of fun. I love that it's so customizable visually, I could get very distracted by that ahah. In a recent MacOS update they added something very similar called Freeform, which was nice. Curious to see if you manage to get into using this!

Having physical notecards sounds super cool. It would be nice to be able to touch more of my own notes as well.

Sublime Text sounds like it might be useful for me too. I feel like there might be a bit too much going on under the hood with VS Code (considering I'm such a basic user).

I was struggling with finding a good non-subscription video editor too and I've found that Blender is the best one for me. It has a lot of control for things I need (like free aspect ratio). There's a lot of quirks to it you need to learn though.

Thanks for the good wishes with Space Deer! I appreciate it!
