I've been playing a lot throughout the day and am quite invested now. At the beginning I wasn't sure if I'd have what it takes to be a good climber but now, by the evening, I've gotten a real intuitive feel for a lot of things. Beating that race was a big victory.
The characters of the game are charming and I've laughed more than once :)
I've encountered some bugs on the Switch version -- so I may send list those to the official Surmount email.
So nice to here you persisted through the hardest part of that learning curve! Happy that I could make you laugh :'- )
The switch version is especially buggy cause we were planning to do a day 1 patch but unfortunately it still isn't through review. Lots of those bugs might already be fixed in that patch. Sending the bugs to that email is a good idea but maybe hold off until that first patch drops sometime these next two weeks?
My first laugh was already in the character creation, hehe -- the nose selection.
I'll hold off on any bug sharing until after the patch is out.
Oh, btw, I wonder if anyone has considered adding a trailer for the game on the eShop? Usually, that is what can make me pull the trigger on an indie game I am unfamiliar with when browsing the eShop. Just thought I would mention.
My Surmount progress is slow and steady. My playstyle tends towards completing everything I can before I move forward -- in other words, all of the side quests. I love it. I have a soft spot for games that on the surface are of a very distinct and maybe limited genre (Mario Tennis, Bomberman, etc.) but that for whatever reason has a singleplayer campaign with lore, worldbuilding, bosses, quests and the fate of the universe! Surmount feels a bit like that but it is a full, epic game and not just an extra mode. Good stuff!
Good luck on any behind the scenes stuff that might be going on, during this period :) I'm sure there's a lot.

All in all congratulations on a delightful game!

Oooph good call about putting a trailer on the eshop page, I don't know why we didn't think of that haha
Glad you like the nose selection! Hehe. Nice to hear it feels like a fully fledged game to you. Thank you very much! :- )
Awesome! :) left an honest positive review.
Thanks Michael! Much appreciated!
